    Welcome to the Kent CT Park and Recreation website. This is an official website of the Kent Park and Recreation Commission, the volunteer commission charged with oversight of the town’s recreational programs. Kent Park and Recreation develops and oversees comprehensive year-round offerings, including youth sports and camps as well as classes, outings and events for community members of all ages.
    Information about Park and Recreation programs is available by clicking the “Programs” tab to the left. Answers to general questions are available by clicking “Frequently Asked Questions” tab on the left. Parents and players will find detailed information about specific sports teams by selecting the “Sports” menu above. Seniors can access information about programs designed specifically for them by choosing the “Seniors” menu at top.

    Park and Recreation offers scholarships, funded by the Kent Community Fund, for its After-School and Camp Kent programs. Application available by speaking with the Park and Recreation director, 860-927-1003.
    The website also contains registration forms, links to other community and regional groups as well as contact information for Kent CT Park and Recreation. Registration forms and other correspondence should be returned the Kent Park and Recreation, P.O. Box 678, Kent, CT 06757.

Holiday Ice Skating

Holiday Ice Skating at the Kent School ice rink, Route 341W, will be offered as follows: December 27, December 30 and January 2: open skate, 10 a.m.-noon; sticks and pucks, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Participants must have a park pass ($35/residents; $65 for non-residents; free Kent residents age 65 or older or $5/person/day) which can be purchased at the rink during skating hours. Participants at open skate must wear skates and hat on the ice; sticks and pucks must wear skates and helmet. Questions: call 860-927-1003.

Easy Taichi

NEW DATES/TIME: Easy Taichi, a simplified Taichi exercise class, will meet Tuesday mornings, 10-11, at the Kent Community House, North Main Street. The six-week sessions will run November 12 to December 17 and January 7 to February 18. The cost is $60/session or $100/both sessions. Program flyer available on this website under "forms." After-School Program

The After-School Program, open to Kent youngsters ages 5 to 12, meets Monday through Friday, 3-5:30 p.m. at Kent Center School. The program features homework and snack times, indoor and outdoor activites. The cost is $11/day. Scholarship assistance, provided by the Kent Community Fund, is available. Program registration forms and handbook available on the website under "Forms." Forms also available in the Park and Recreation office, Kent Center School office or by calling 860-927-1003.

Tang Soo Do

Tang Soo Do (Martial Arts) meets Mondays at the Kent Community House, North Main Street. Programs offered are: Kid Kicks, ages 4-7, 6-6:30 p.m.; ages 7 and older, 6:30-7:30 p.m., weapons and advanced forms every other week at 7:35 p.m. Cost: $80/first family member; $60 for additional family members for 10-week session. Pesticide Ban

The Kent Park and Recreation Commission voted to ban any chemical use of Round-Up and the generic form of Round-Up at Emery Park and Kent Common Park at its March 25, 2019 special meeting.

Playing Fields

The rules for the Playing Fields adjacent Kent Center School state that dogs are not allowed on the fields, and playing golf is prohibited on the fields. Kent Park and Rec appreciates your observance of these rules when using the fields.
