Welcome to the Kent CT Park and Recreation website. This is an official website of the Kent Park and Recreation Commission, the volunteer commission charged with oversight of the town’s recreational programs. Kent Park and Recreation develops and oversees comprehensive year-round offerings, including youth sports and camps as well as classes, outings and events for community members of all ages.
Information about Park and Recreation programs is available by clicking the “Programs” tab to the left. Answers to general questions are available by clicking “Frequently Asked Questions” tab on the left. Parents and players will find detailed information about specific sports teams by selecting the “Sports” menu above. Seniors can access information about programs designed specifically for them by choosing the “Seniors” menu at top.
Park and Recreation offers scholarships, funded by the Kent Community Fund, for its After-School and Camp Kent programs. Application available by speaking with the Park and Recreation director, 860-927-1003.

Virtual Easter Egg Hunt
Join Park and Recreation's Virtual Easter Egg Hunt - create Easter "eggs" and send Park and Recreation pictures which will be posted on its Facebook Page - Kent Park and Recreation. Flyer posted on the website under "Forms."
Kent Park and Recreation's Mid-County spring baseball programs (Majors, Minors and Farm Little League teams) are on hold until at least May 11, 2020 in compliance with the guidelines of Little League baseball. Additionally, tryouts for the new regional NW Connecticut Steve Blass Little League team also have been postponed until at least May 11. We will keep players updated as this develops. Also, players who have not registered yet for the spring season would have an opportunity to do so once the recreation departments know the status of the spring programs. The Kent Park and Recreation Commission has an opening for a commission member to fill an unexpired, three-year seat until Jan. 20, 2022. The commission meets the third Monday of the month (mostly), 7 p.m., Kent Town Hall. The commission is charged with oversight of the Town’s recreational programs and two parks. Electors of the Town of Kent should express their interest in being considered and their background in writing to Kent Park and Recreation Commission, P.O. UPDATE: LITTLE LEAGUE HAS POSTPONED THE START OF THE SEASON UNTIL AT LEAST MAY 11. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATED INFORMATION REGARDING TRY-OUTS. Tryouts for the new regional, chartered Little League team, Northwest Connecticut Steve Blass Little League, were scheduled March 18, 6-8 p.m. and March 21, 8 a.m. at Hotchkiss School Mars Athletic Center, 22 Limerock Road, Lakeville. Region One youth who are Little League age 10-12, born between September 2007 and August 2010, are eligible to tryout for this team. Players must attend one tryout and it is recommended that they attend both. Program flyer, registration form and information available on the website under "Forms."
Kent Park and Recreation is accepting applications for certified, seasonal lifeguards to work summer 2020 at Emery Park, 42 Segar Mountain Road, Kent. Congenial work environment, flexible schedule and compensation if shift canceled due to inclement weather. Job application available on the website under "forms." Kent Park and Recreation will host Coach Art Leary's Slamma-Jamma Basketball Camp July 20-24, 2020, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kent Center School, 9 Judd Avenue, Kent. The camp is open to youngsters entering grades 3 through 9 at a cost of $175. Register and pay online by visiting slamma-jamma.com. The After-School Program, open to Kent youngsters ages 5 to 12, meets Monday through Friday, 3-5:30 p.m. at Kent Center School. The program features homework and snack times, indoor and outdoor activites. The cost is $11/day. Scholarship assistance, provided by the Kent Community Fund, is available. Tang Soo Do (Martial Arts) meets Mondays at the Kent Community House, North Main Street. Programs offered are: Kid Kicks, ages 4-7, 6-6:30 p.m.; ages 7 and older, 6:30-7:30 p.m., weapons and advanced forms every other week at 7:35 p.m. Cost: $80/first family member; $60 for additional family members for 10-week session.
