Emery Park, 42 Segar Mountain Road (Route 341W): seasonal, spring-fed swimming area (park pass required to swim) is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; swimming area will close August 21 at 6 p.m. for the season; playground, picnic areas with grills, hiking trail. Park open dawn to dusk.
Kent Common Park, Swifts Lane: playground, walking path, Memory Garden, tennis courts (park pass required to use the courts), pavilion with picnic facilities can be reserved for events (includes option for access to electricity) by calling 860-927-1003. Park open dawn to dusk.
Kent Community House, North Main Street (adjacent the First Congregational Church): Park and Recreation classes are held here. For information about renting the building for events, contact Joyce Kearns, 860-927-4627.
Playing Fields at Kent Center School, 9 Judd Avenue: Park and Recreation has jurisdiction over scheduling at the softball and baseball field and soccer fields weekdays after 5 p.m. as well as weekends. The rules at the playing fields state that dogs are not allowed on the fields, and there is no playing of golf.
