Region 1 Summer Recreational  Baseball 2020

This summer’s Region 1 Rec Baseball is designed to give players a recreational opportunity to safely play baseball safely in a controlled and coached environment on a weekly basis. Players will meet at the field and then be divided up into teams for scrimmages. All teams will be coached and supervised as if playing in a regular season. The first two meetings will be used as practices so the coaches can get to know the players. After that, nights will be used for games.

Restricted to players who are region one residents, Little League age 9-12, born 9/2007-8/2011

We will meet on Monday and Thursdays at Trotta Field on Salmon Kill Rd in Salisbury. We will start on July 6th and continue through August 6th.

Due to COVID-19, these are the guidelines that must be followed

Players must wear a mask when not on the field.

Players must social distance when not on the field. Dugouts will not be used and players will be assigned their own space at the field along the fence and in the bleachers.

We ask that parents social distance at the games and limit the number of people attending to one parent and no siblings.

Helmets will not be shared. If you do not have your own, one will be lent to you.

We will reduce the amount of bat sharing as possible. If you have your own bat, you and you alone will use it. If you do not and need to share we will clean and sanitize the bats between use. Bats must have USA Baseball logo.

Catchers equipment will be cleaned and sanitized in between use if you do not have your own set.

We ask that players limit contact, no high fives, hugs etc. We will tip hats at the end of the game.

Players must bring their own water bottle marked with their name.

There will be no gum or sunflower seeds allowed.

In the spirit of this being rec baseball we will ask willing parents to umpire the games from behind the mound.

Players who are playing on the NWCTSBLL travel team are expected not to play on the Rec Baseball nights.

We are very excited to offer a chance for kids to play baseball this summer and hope your support and help in enforcing these guidelines will give them a chance to stay safe and healthy and have a good experience playing baseball.
