Easter Egg Hunt – Kent Park and Recreation sponsors the annual hunt on the lawn outside Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard. The event is open to Kent youngsters, ages 10 and under, and features two separate hunts: ages 5 and under and ages 6 to 10. The 2020 event will be announced.
Halloween Safety Program – Kent Park and Recreation and the Kent Lions Club provide “glow-in-the-dark” necklaces to trick-or-treaters of all ages on Halloween. The Park and Recreation director and the Kent Resident State Trooper distribute necklaces on Halloween between 5 and 7 p.m. (or until supply lasts) on North Main Street, adjacent the Kent Memorial Library. The program promotes safety for pedestrians in Kent’s neighborhoods on Halloween.
Holiday Ice Skating – Holiday ice skating is offered at Kent School ice rink, Route 341W. A park pass is required ($35 for Kent residents; free to Kent residents ages 65 and older; $65 for non-residents or $5/person/day) and can be purchased in the Park and Recreation office or at the rink during skating times. Skating will be offered December 27, December 30 and January 2: open skate, 10 a.m.-noon; sticks and pucks, 12:30-2:30 p.m. Participants must wear hat and skates on the ice during open skate; skates and helmet during sticks and pucks.
Winter Ice Skating - dates and availability for 2020 will be announced.
Concerts on the Lawn - the series dates for 2020 summer season will be announed. The free summer concert series are held on the lawn at Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent. Participants are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, picnic dinners. Sponsorship opportunities will be announced early in 2020. For more information, call 860-927-1003.
Boo Bash - Halloween-themed event co-sponsored with the Kent Center School PTO; 2020 date to be announced. Features costume parade with prizes, games, pumpkin decorating, haunted maze, refreshments.
